Welcome to Wines from Spain in Ireland
Back in September 2003 our first Trade Wine Fair took place at the Westbury hotel in Dublin with 70 attendees. We organised that first event with such enthusiasm and excitement and we still feel the same about it 10 years later. The fact that our visitor figures have risen to over 200 professionals may be testament to that spirit.
Ten years ago, Spain accounted only for the 5.5% of the total wine market in Ireland. Despite the current outlook, the latest figures (Jan.- Nov. 2012) show that Spanish wines take a stake of 13.5% of the Irish wine market. We are very proud to be part of the Wines from Spain’ growth in Ireland.
I would like to thank all the Irish trade and Spanish wineries that have participated with Wines from Spain during all these years. All this could not have happened without their enthusiasm and support during this time.
Some great events are planned for this year. Apart from the 10th edition of the Wines from Spain Fair at the Shelbourne hotel, some memorable seminars and promotional activities on Rías Baixas wines will be held before summer. Please be updated about our events in Ireland by checking our blog regularly.
And why don’t discover Spanish wines in their own element? Spain is only 2 hours away by plane. From the green Galicia to the sunny Valencia, our wine regions offer a unique number of grapes, landscapes and modern & classic wine styles.
